Food Intolerance testing and fertility
Since 2006 many patients using NaProTechnology have availed of food intolerance testing and dietary strategies in an attempt to improve general health and fertility. We recommend IgG antibody testing as explained in the attached booklet HERE. Testing can be arranged by your FertilityCare Teacher Practitioner or Physican at review.
We also advise couples - both the man and the woman - to consider seeking the support of a nutritional therapist such as www.positivenutrition.ie to optimise your nutritional status pre-conception.
In our clinical experience to date, changing your diet will improve fertility and reduce your risk of miscarriage.
LDN - Low Dose Naltrexone
"Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) may well be the most important therapeutic breakthrough in over fifty years. It provides a new, safe and inexpensive method of medical treatment by mobilizing the natural defenses of one's own immune system.
LDN substantially reduces health care costs and improves treatment of a wide array of diseases. Unfortunately, because naltrexone has been without patent protection for many years, no pharmaceutical company will bear the expense of the large clinical trials necessary for FDA approval of LDN’s new special uses. It is now up to public institutions to seize the opportunity that LDN offers."

LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) is an immune modifying treatment that has been used as part of NaProTechnology fertility treatment since 2004. Clinical experience in the use of this medication is very positive but until now there were no published scientific papers to demonstrate the immune modifying properties of LDN. At last Professor Jill Smith et al have published a pilot study demonstrating the effectiveness of LDN in Crohn's disease...a condition caused by the immune system attacking the digestive tract. Click HERE for an abstract of the study from the American Journal of Gastroenterology 2007.
